Several techniques of critical application test in production phase with different objectives exist. We are going through the two main techniques: passive measurements based on exchanged traffic registration between users and their applications and active measurements based on application consultation scripts executed at regular intervals on robots. Often opposed, both techniques in fact complete each other. This article evaluates the situation on their use and their respective pros and cons.
